Of course, in finding a way to get to the top, some of these characters could end up running into some rather-undue consequences.
Below, CarterMatt has The Rookie episode 6 synopsis offers up some more information when it comes to what’s ahead:
Nolan, the rookies and their training officers get involved in a competition that pits them against each other, while Officer Lucy Chen notices Officer Tim Bradford is obsessed with winning at all costs.
There is absolutely nothing surprising about the idea of Bradford going full-tilt in order to ensure that he wins. After all, this is a guy who gets super-intense about everything! Could there be an added incentive in order for him to do well here? It’s something that we wonder about from a financial standpoint. After all, Tim is a guy who is struggling with his wife, who seems to be out in the wind and suffering with addiction. Money is something that he thinks he needs in order to help her, so winning could prove to be really important to him.
The more that this episode goes along, the more we are hoping that some answers are filled in when it comes to his backstory. He is one of the series’ most-interesting characters, largely because he is so abrasive but there is something raw and tender underneath the surface. The problem, at least with the vast majority of characters within this story, is finding a way in order to adequately get there and understand what he’s going through and coming from.
Why else is this episode important?
It’s mostly due to ratings momentum and trying to find a way in order to ensure that the series stays solid enough for renewal. While ABC did give The Rookie a full season on the network, at the same time that is no guarantee of a season 2. There’s still more work to be done and definitely more support that needs to be handed down in order to ensure that this series can stick around for a season 2. Both the end of this season (and the early part of the next one) will prove critical.
