MacGyver season 3 episode 9 spoilers: The CDC and a possible outbreak!

For those who want to see MacGyver venture close to The Walking Dead territory then the upcoming episode seems to be your opportunity. This installment (episode 9) is featuring the possibility of a deadly outbreak, and beyond just that the CDC in Atlanta will have a role! Does anyone remember the CDC from season 1 of the AMC show? That’s pretty much all we think about when we hear about the CDC now.

Before we dive any further, let’s go ahead and share the official MacGyver season 3 episode 9 synopsis below. There’s a lot of fun stuff in here that you’re going to want to check out:

“Specimen 234 + PAPR + Outbreak” – When a vial containing a deadly virus is stolen from the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, MacGvyer and team race to recover it before the thief unleashes a global pandemic, on MACGYVER, Friday, Nov. 30 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

One of the first things that we want to point out regarding this episode is an interesting bit of geography. MacGyver actually films in Atlanta, but given that the bulk of the story is often set in Los Angeles there aren’t many opportunities for the writers to actually put them in their real-life settings. This episode allows for that opportunity as Mac, Bozer, and the rest of the characters can actually be in the ATL proper.

As for the case itself, it seems fairly straightforward in that you’re going to get a chance to see Mac and the gang race against time to save the city (and possibly the world) from some sort of terrible disease. Maybe it’s not the zombie virus, but it’s still definitely dangerous.

What else is worth noting?

Well, for starters, both Lance Gross and Reign Edwards are going to be appearing in this episode as Billy Colton and Leanna, respectively. That means that we could get an update on some of these characters’ personal lives, which is certainly welcome since it’s been a little while. It’s already been revealed on the series that Bozer is worried that he can’t be himself around Leanna, and that could eventually lead to a breakup if it festers. It may not, but it’s certainly worth watching out for. Meanwhile, Riley was already offered a chance (via Billy) in order to join the Colton crew, if she so chooses. There’s no real sign at the moment that she’s going to say yes to that offer, but it definitely does still feel like something to circle back to even if this particular episode does not address it.
