God Friended Me episode 7 video: See Michael Vartan as Cara’s dad
Do you want to know what’s coming on God Friended Me episode 7? A good bit of it, at least based on the information coming in now, has to do with family.
If you look below (via TVLine), you can see Cara having a conversation with her father (played by Michael Vartan), who is in town and definitely has some questions. At the top of the list, to the surprise of almost no one, is Cara’s mother. The two recently reconnected and as a result of that, he does have a number concerns. For starters, he wants to know if she is sober and beyond that, wants to ensure that his daughter is okay. He is basically trying to be a good father in every way that he can, knowing that there is a difficult/painful past here. He didn’t bring up her mother much when she was younger, largely due to the pain that was there — his own pain, probably more so than anyone.
What we get a sense of here is that Cara’s dad is mostly just trying to be the concerned father and he’s doing everything right as a result of that. There’s a reason to be concerned about Cara being hurt because it’s happened before. Also, the pain that he experienced remains paramount in the midst of everything here, as well.
As for how much Cara will clue him in on the God Account, we’re as curious about that as anything given that it’s such a strange experience for any one person to have — especially since there are so many questions still about its origins. We don’t anticipate that part of this story will be resolved anytime soon, and we also doubt that this is the last time we end up seeing Vartan’s character on the series. He seems like the sort of person who can be brought back at least a couple of times a season in various capacities, especially if we end up seeing this series net a second-season order. It’s a little too early to guarantee anything on that, but it’s something we’ll be talking about later this month as we examine more closely the future fate of many freshman shows.
What else is coming Sunday?
Let’s just say that the theme of family is going to permeate what’s happening with Miles, as he is going to be forced to uncover some hard truths when it comes to his own. Sometimes, it’s difficult to see issues within your own family when you are so close to it.
