The Resident season 2 episode 7 review: What happened with Devon, Julian?

The Resident season 2 episode 5

Tonight, The Resident season 2 episode 7 told a story that was about relationships across the board — some personal, some professional.

When it comes to Devon and Julian, it feels like this relationship could cause his actual one to start to fall apart a little bit. After all, they got a little too close over the episode, especially after she fell in surgery and he rushed over to find her. (She was wearing the app that she was meant to be testing.) Then, they kissed — they talked about it and cleared it up, but it doesn’t feel like these feelings are gone. The relationship between Devon and Priya is on the rocks and based on what we saw tonight, it seems to be only getting rockier from here on out. We’re just going to have to see whether or not that actually ends in them splitting. (It definitely does feel like the relationship between Devon and Julian seems to be reasonably out in the open.)

Meanwhile, tonight the sisterly relationship between Nic and her sister Jessie seemed to expand, largely due to the fact that the latter took place in a risky drug trial. On the other side of that, though, she started to experience a wide array of symptoms; basically, ones that almost took her life. This cased the two to discuss about Jessie making smarter life decisions. Hopefully, she is going to do that, and these characters are going to start to move forward more in one place. Conrad and Nic, for now, seem to be doing just fine.

In getting to some other romantic relationships, doesn’t it feel to anyone else like we are getting close to something happening with Mina and AJ — or, Dr. Bell and Dr. Voss? They’re certainly growing closer, and we wonder more with the latter whether or not it could actually turn Dr. Bell into someone resembling more of a better, kinder person. If that happens, isn’t there certainly something worth celebrating?

CarterMatt Verdict

As a whole, this episode proved itself to be a fun one with the dance sequence at the end … at least other than the infidelity part of it.
