Madam Secretary season 5 episode 6 preview: Elizabeth’s stuck at an airport
Instead, what Bess is going to be up against is a face-off with the Turkish foreign minister while in an airport in Ireland, this wasn’t something that was planned out; instead, it is inspired by volcanic activity. These characters are going to have to figure out a way to handle this interruption to their travel plans, while also working towards a deal that can save a number of refugees in the process.
Below, CarterMatt has the full Madam Secretary season 5 episode 6 synopsis with some more information on what’s coming:
“Eyjafjallajökull” – When the eruption of an Icelandic volcano strands Elizabeth at an airport in Ireland with the Turkish foreign minister, she tries to broker a deal with him to save the lives of thousands of Syrian refugees. Also, Henry gives advice to Alison about an awkward topic, on MADAM SECRETARY, Sunday, Nov. 11 (10:30-11:30 PM, ET/10:00-11:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.
If there is one thing we can say in all certainty about this coming episode, it’s this: The airport is not the sort of place where you really want to negotiate anything. Instead, this is where people have a tendency to be their crankiest and just don’t have much of an interest in listening to anything that you have to say. They are grumpy, stubborn, and more often than not interested to just listening to something on their phone. If Elizabeth can get through to a foreign minister in their most-agitated state, she may prove that she’s Presidential yet again. (We really hope she does, since the issues at hand here are actually really serious.)
