Michael Buble’s Carpool Karaoke gets emotional over son’s cancer battle
This edition of the long-running The Late Late Show segment, which originally aired in the UK as a part of the country’s Stand Up To Cancer benefit, features Buble performing a number of his hits alongside Corden while also opening up about why that cause is so personal and dear to his heart. His son Noah was diagnosed with cancer years ago and this began a long, difficult, process where the entire family moved to Los Angeles to ensure that they got the best treatment for him possible. Noah’s cancer is now in remission, but to hear Buble talk about it, before a performance of his popular song “Home,” easily brings a tear to one’s eye.
It is through watching a video like this that you are reminded further of the importance of cancer research and, beyond that, organizations who can help those who are less fortunate and don’t have the money and resources of music superstars. That’s why Stand Up to Cancer and other charities are so important. They allow people opportunities at life that they may not have had otherwise, and we certainly applaud Buble and also Corden for bringing some of these issues to the forefront. We’re in an era now where there are so many distractions ways for your head to dart from one subject to the next. It’s with that in mind that subjects like charity and giving are often forgotten about.
Carpool Karaoke has always been a fairly fun segment for Corden, but we do like over the years how we’ve been able to see the show take on a number of other subjects. Take, for example, what we saw with Sir Paul McCartney when James opened up about his grandfather. (You can read more about that segment, and even watch it, over at the link here.)
