Siren season 2 trailer: More mermaids, power battles, and more

Siren - Freeform

The bad news when it comes to Siren season 2 at present is simply this: You’re going to be waiting a while in order to see it. The latest batch of episodes is not slated to premiere until January, but we like to think that the latest trailer does a good job of tiding you over for a while.

While we cannot say that this particular trailer hammers down any major plot points when it comes to the Freeform drama, it does make one thing rather clear: There are more mermaids coming than we’ve seen before, and that means a chance to explore more tension and carnage at Bristol Cove. It also puts Ryn in a precarious position as there could be more conflict between mermaids and humans. She’s experienced the good in humanity (or at least some people in it) and it’s possible she may not view any disagreements as black-and-white. There are allies and adversaries everywhere, and there could be conflict between mermaids because of this.

Overall, though, this season really does offer up a chance to further explore the mythology that is present here with mermaids, including their history and what this means this surrounding world. This also should prove to be a chance to explore further relationships past and present with humanity. This is a fascinating show with a lot to say about both the world and the environment, and we’re certainly interested in seeing some of what is spelled out here.

Of course, we’re also interested in seeing some new relationship conflicts and drama that exists between some different characters, but that’s not the sort of stuff that Freeform is revealing now. You may have to wait a little bit longer still in order to see some of that. (Hopefully, there are some more trailers coming before January.)
