Outlander notes: More Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Richard Rankin odds & ends

Outlander season 4

Welcome to another morning edition of Outlander notes! We’ve clearly still got a good bit to talk about in the aftermath of New York Comic-Con.

Let’s kick things off here, though, with some gratitude via some of the cast members who were in attendance this week for the official panel, autograph signing, and many other festivities. The Instagram video below via Richard Rankin (Roger) gives you a good sense of what it is like walking around outside in his shoes — it must be flattering, though also at times overwhelming due in part to the sheer magnitude of people you run into on a fairly regular basis.

Meanwhile, take a look at the message that Sophie Skelton left on her own Instagram after getting a chance to be at the event all weekend.

“Thank you to the fans who came to see us and those who waited hours on end to say hi. It means the world, we adore you and we wouldn’t be doing any of this without you … Thank you to the [Sony, Starz, and Outlander] teams for being so awesome … and for putting up with us!”

If you missed it, take a look at the full New York Comic-Con panel below, and to go along with that, some of our thoughts on the premiere episode being screened to fans in attendance there! We also have an official Outlander playlist that will help you to ensure you don’t miss any updates on the series.

Sam Heughan & Caitriona Balfe’s description of the show

Here’s one other fun tidbit we missed from the weekend. As a part of the duo’s recent Entertainment Weekly cover story, they took part in a fun video where they (or mostly Caitriona) described the entirety of the series to date in just thirty seconds. This is hardly an easy feat given just how much has transpired, but the two of them pull it off rather well! It’s a good video to watch if you want a quick laugh to help kick off your week. That’s been the great thing about the last few days; it’s been mostly fun, and an opportunity to really see a number of the show’s cast members in an array of different contexts. It’s certainly been intense, but the actors / producers have done as good of a job as possible giving off a relaxed vibe.
