Ink Master season 11 episode 7 video: The coaches face off again!
This time around, the showdown between said coaches is also rather different than you’ve seen in the past. The team members are going to choose the four different styles that Christian Buckingham and Cleen Rock One are going to do. Not only that, but they will not be able to perform in their signatures styles. That means no new-school for Cleen, and no black-and-gray realism for Christian.
As you can see in the preview for this episode over here, there are some artists who make some rather controversial decisions when it comes to some of their choices here. For Team Christian, why in the world did they choose for him to do a color-realistic strawberry? While realism is more or less his thing, doing a strawberry is something that takes an extremely large amount of time to pull off. He isn’t exactly thrilled about that. Cleen, meanwhile, seems to be more than happy with some of his team’s choices, especially getting to do graffiti lettering. He views that almost a foundation to much of the other work that he’s done as an artist.
As we await the results of this competition on Tuesday night, it does feel like Cleen has the advantage. He seems to be happier with the designs and, at the moment, he also may have a little bit more to lose given that Christian won the first showdown between the two and, beyond that, he just lost an artist in Stacy. He also does have a weaker link on his team in Austin and there could be an interesting strategic move he could make here. If he fights to keep Austin safe after this challenge, is there a way that he could get someone from Team Christian sent home? It’s certainly something that he should consider…
