The Resident season 2 episode 2 preview: The battle of Marshall, Bell
For much of season 1, we saw Dr. Randolph Bell have a certain measure of control over this at the hospital. With that in mind, we think that there are going to be many problems ahead as he has to come to grips with someone new in charge (Marshall) who isn’t predisposed to listening to what he has to say. Instead, he’s a little bit more inclined to listen to his own son in Conrad. We doubt very much that Conrad wants any sort of nepotism at all, but he may still end up getting it regardless. That’s just something that he has to go ahead and prepare for.
Below, CarterMatt has The Resident season 2 episode 2 synopsis for you with a few more details — including details on another new arrival in Julian Lynn:
Bell grows frustrated when Marshall Winthrop, Conrad’s dad and new chairman of the board, requests Conrad’s input in his discussions about the hospital’s expenses. As Conrad and Nic work to cut costs for their patients in need, Julian Lynn (guest star Jenna Dewan), a sharp and sophisticated medical device rep, meets the staff at Chastain and inserts herself into the ongoing work of the doctors to promote her costly products. Meanwhile, Mina’s relationship with Micah struggles in the wake of his healing process, and Devon is tasked with showing the eager new interns around the hospital in the all-new “The Prince & The Pauper” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Monday, Oct. 1 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (RES-202) (TV-14 D, L, S, V)
To date, we would say that the second season is looking to build and evolve on what we had in season 1 — there are still power struggles and weekly patients, but also deeper relationships that need to be expanded on. Now that we know the characters, we can dive into what makes them tick.
