Could a second Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD crossover happen this season?
At the moment, let’s just say that there is a fairly strong possibility, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. In a recent post on Twitter, executive producer Derek Haas noted in response to a question that there could be a second three-hour crossover event this season. If that happens, odds are it wouldn’t be until closer to the end of the season — scripts are typically planned out for episodes many weeks before filming begins for them, let alone when they actually air. With that in mind, we imagine that we’re going to be waiting for a good while in order to find out.

Yet, while there may or may not be too many full three-hour crossovers, we hardly think that next week is going to be the last time you see the casts of these shows cross-pollinate. It’s fairly common that you see an actor or two appear across different shows for the sake of furthering along that story and making this universe feel intertwined. These shows are always going to be connected, even without a huge crossover story. We’re always game for the big crossovers, or at least we are on the occasions in which there is a great story to tell. We don’t need to see a crossover just for a sake of seeing one; it has to be worthwhile of the time that it takes away from some of the stories on the individual shows.
