Arrow season 7 trailer hints at an imposter Green Arrow, Ricardo Diaz’s return

Arrow

Are you ready for Arrow season 7 to arrive? The new trailer (which CarterMatt has for you below) is going to give you another reason to be excited.

After all, we may be gearing up for the most intense version of the show that we’ve seen to date. It’s violent, it’s gritty, and it’s hard to see how Oliver Queen is going to get himself out of his current dilemma. The character is now in prison, his secret is out, and there doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel. He’s reliant on Diggle and others for the sake of preserving his sanity in the midst of what are potentially constant beatdowns. It cannot be easy to be both a former Mayor and also a vigilante within a prison full of people you are responsible for putting away. That’s why there are so many familiar faces from past seasons who will be stopping by — for many of these characters, they see this as an opportunity to get a little bit of revenge on him.

While Arrow is not the first show in the Arrowverse to put a character in prison (we already saw it on The Flash), expect this take on the story to be violent and significantly more challenging. We don’t expect this to be a twist that goes away anytime soon.

Beyond Oliver being in prison, there are two other things about this trailer that we consider to be especially notable: We will apparently have an imposter Green Arrow running around the city, and we already wonder if that is Roy Harper given that Colton Haynes is coming back as a regular. Meanwhile, Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) is apparently returning in some capacity — we do wonder if the scene with him and Felicity is a dream, but they didn’t kill Diaz in the finale – he got away and with that, he could be back at any time.
