America’s Got Talent finalist spotlight: Brian King Joseph’s underdog story
Anytime you talk about a musician on this show, there are always going to be questions as to what their true ceiling is. It’s hard sometimes to necessarily expect huge things from a sort of act that has never won this show before. Yet, Brian is not your ordinary violinist / musical act. He’s got an incredible personality, works hard to get everything that he has this season, and has an inspiring story to go along with it. He’s also got something that very few other contestants on AGT tend to have over the years: Momentum. He’s been able to really get better and better with each passing week, and that’s really not something that you see all that often with this show.
As a matter of fact, it’s really with this past episode that we started to really think of him as a serious threat to actually finish in the top five.

Is anything actually working against him at the moment? We would argue that the #1 thing is really the idea that he may have peaked with the stunning, visual performance that we got on this past episode. If he gets put early in the show, he may run the risk of being forgotten over the course of the finale.
What are his winner odds?
Mostly based on some of the other acts that are in the finale, especially the ones like Shin Lim and Courtney Hadwin who have had rave reviews for most of the season, it’s hard to be all that confident. We think Brian is one of those people who could have a great deal more success after the show is over depending on the venue in which he chooses. We think that he could fare really well as a YouTube star or collaborating with some other pop artists. We think that his career is going to be really based on just how much he can figure out how to reach younger audiences out there. These are the sort of people who would probably love to watch him cover other songs or learn some of his tricks.
Ultimately, it may be years before we start to really understand how successful Brian will be following the show.
