American Vandal season 3: Is a renewal possible over at Netflix?
At the moment, though, one thing feels fairly clear: If there is going to be another batch of episodes in the future, it is probably going to be very much different than everything that we’ve seen before. One of the constants that we’ve seen with this show so far is that from one season to the next, nothing is constant. This is a satire of youth culture that is very much interested in just trying a different thing every season and rolling with whatever happens as a result of it. It’s creative and innovative that way, and it also allows them to play around with new characters.
What’s also interesting in regards to the format of the series is that it gives them an opportunity to not be as reliant on past-season ratings as some other shows out there. If the viewership for season 2 is slightly less than expected, for example, it’s still possible that a season 3 happens and the streaming service just rounds up another cast. There are a lot of different options out there and things that this series could ultimately decide to pursue.
Ultimately, though, we do think that Netflix will still consider the viewership for season 2, and also how many people watch that season from start to finish before they make a decision. Netflix is a streaming service now that also has a lot of other programming options. With that in mind, they may not have to pick up the show unless they really want to. There is such a wide array of programming at their disposal now that they have a lot of flexibility in terms of some of the shows they want to ultimately renew.
