Chicago PD season 6 on set: Jesse Lee Soffer, Tracy Spiridakos talk Upton, Halstead stories
For the sake of today’s article, we’re looking specifically at Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) and Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), who may have some really-exciting stuff coming up this season. For Spiridakos, that means an opportunity to maybe dive a little more into her character’s history after seeing that big undercover episode unfold last season. Speaking to CarterMatt while at the One Chicago Day earlier this week, she had the following to say to us:
“From what I hear, there’s an episode coming up where we get to see a little bit more into Upton’s background. That’s fun! I don’t know what it is, but it’s exciting.”

For those of you who are looking ahead to some romantic moments, both Spiriadakos and Soffer both hinted at a “huge twist” that could be coming, but did not necessarily say that it involves Jay and Hailey together. Instead, Soffer teased the following to us:
“As far as Hailey and Jay are concerned, they as partners just trust each other a little bit more and they’ve gotten a little closer. As far as relationships go, I think the fans are going to go ‘wait … what?’; there’s going to be crazy stuff that happens.
Take from that whatever you will, but it definitely feels as though Chicago PD is going to be giving its viewers a lot of interesting stories to discuss! Also, remember that there are some darker stories ahead; it’s hard to imagine anything otherwise when the show is still recovering from losing Alvin Olinsky. The show must go on, but it’s also not as though the fallen will be forgotten.
