Can the People’s Choice Awards help Shadowhunters in some form?

Shadowhunters season 3 spoilersToday, the official People’s Choice Awards nominations were made official and if you love Shadowhunters, there is some good news to report on here.

If you head over to the link here, you can check out some of the first batch of nominees for the upcoming show, and that includes a number of write-in candidates. There is a way in which to vote for Shadowhunters directly within the Sci-Fi / Fantasy category, and that award would go a reasonably long way to ensuring that the show gets a little more attention.

Would it really help to get the show more episodes beyond season 3? We’d love to say that it could, but at the moment it doesn’t appear as though there is any movement there and the Teen Choice Awards win didn’t really move the needle much. Instead, we wouldn’t go into voting for the show thinking that it could end up saving the series; instead, we would do it as a way to say thank you to all of the cast and crew for all of the hard work that they’ve done behind the scenes over the years. It’s another feather for them to have in their cap and if a win contributes to something more down the road, that’s awesome.

For now, though, the PCAs are just in the short-list phase of voting. Things will be narrowed down over time and the show itself is going to air on their new home in E! come November 11. The final episodes of Shadowhunters season 3 is going to be airing in the new year on Freeform. We’re confident that the final episodes next year are going to offer a satisfying conclusion no matter what happens, but really, getting the ratings up is the best way to help the franchise and the future.

Our suggestion is, at least at the moment, to vote for the love of Shadowhunters and its future.
