Absentia season 2 cast members reconvene in Bulgaria
Thanks to the new Instagram post via star Neil Jackson (Jack Byrne), you can see that he, Angel Bonanni (Tommy), and Patrick Heusinger (Nick) are back in Bulgaria where the series films. If that’s not a clear indication that everyone’s getting back into the show again (or at least getting prepared to), what is? While things are fairly light when it comes to behind-the-scenes details at the moment, hopefully that will change over the upcoming days.
Of course, we don’t exactly expect much in the way of scoop on the story itself given that a big part of what makes Absentia the excellent story that it is are the surprises that you get along the way. The first season was as addicting as they come story-wise, as almost every episode bled directly into the next and you got an action-packed thrill ride from start to finish.
At the moment, the most exciting thing to us is just getting confirmation that these three guys are all going to be a part of the story of the show again. While we in part assumed that would be the case, nothing was altogether confirmed in advance and sometimes shows like this undergo big cast changes during the season. We’re just happy that this was not the case here.
We expect filming to take place in Sofia and the surrounding areas over the coming months, and for Absentia season 2 to premiere in most territories at some point in 2019. Amazon has yet to confirm that they will be the US provider for the next season, but fingers crossed.
