Ray Donovan season 6 cast talk setting, story ahead
In the new video (which you can see over at the link here), you can see Liev Schreiber and some other cast members discussing the aftermath of what happened at the end of last season. Ray tried to take his own life by jumping into the East River and in the aftermath of that, he has to figure out how to rebuild his life in New York City. As it turns out, one of the ways in which he will do that is by forging a relationship with Mac, an NYPD officer who helps to get him back on his feet. In the aftermath of this, Schreiber claims that “What gets Ray on his feet again is his drive to just be useful … [But] things with the Donovans [are] strained.”
So how will Ray be useful? Think in terms of doing more of what he does best: Fixing complicated-but-amoral problems that nobody else really has the fortitude or the understanding to figure out. That includes, in part, dealing with Sam Winslow once again, who will be a part of the story despite the change in setting. Ray is going to find himself in a position where he ends up helping her in some capacity, and watching this play out will bring the show back to its roots a little bit.
Also, don’t forget about Jon Voight’s character of Mickey. In the same video, the veteran actor shares that his character is far from done with the story, and is going to find a way to resurface on the series at a time in which people least suspect it.
