Ray Donovan season 6 premiere date, trailer, details and more

Ray Donovan season 5 finale

Ray Donovan season 6 is almost here, and with that, it seems to be time for Ray to try and get a fresh start.

Today, Showtime announced that the latest batch of episodes for the Liev Schreiber series is going to be premiering on Sunday, October 28 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. The most notable thing that is different about the season comes via its setting: This is the first one that is set outside of Los Angeles. Ray is back on the East Coast now, where he is doing virtually everything he can to rebuild his life. Sam Winslow is also there, which means that she’s probably going to do just about everything that she can in order to convince Ray to do her bidding.

Basically, expect a lot of violence, a bushier beard for Ray, and for him to be back to some of his old tricks. Being in New York really isn’t changing a whole lot.

Below, the Ray Donovan season 6 logline does offer up a fairly good sense as to what lies ahead:

As season six of Ray Donovan begins, we find Ray (Schreiber) rebuilding his life both personally and professionally in New York City. After being rescued from a plummet into the East River, his savior, a cop named Mac (Domenick Lombardozzi), brings Ray into the fraternity that is the Staten Island Police Department. While exploring this new world of brotherhood and corruption, Ray finds himself once again working for media mogul Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon). Sam has teamed up with New York City mayoral candidate Anita Novak (Lola Glaudini), a partnership that puts Ray at odds with his new friends out in Staten Island.

All in all, there’s a lot to like about season 6 — and we of course mean that even more so if you enjoyed the ones that came before.
