NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 premiere spoilers: Gerald McRaney returns!

NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 premiere

While we knew that the NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 premiere was going to feature resolution to the massive cliffhanger they left us with, we’re also going to be getting a notable guest star!

CBS confirmed today that Gerald McRaney, known these days for This Is Us, Longmire, and many other great shows, is going to be appearing on the premiere episode in his role of retired Navy Admiral Hollace Kilbride. He hasn’t been on the show since 2014, so getting him back now is a rather big deal. His story seems to be tied in part to what’s going on with Mosley, which is interesting in its own right given that these two characters haven’t been seen on the show before now.

For a few more details on what’s coming, check out the full NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 premiere synopsis below:

“To Live and Die in Mexico” – Gravely injured and unable to communicate with the team in the U.S., Callen, Sam and Kensi, with an unconscious Deeks in tow, search for a safe way home as a cartel boss places a “dead or alive” bounty on their heads. Also, Mosely and retired Navy Admiral Hollace Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) beseech their contacts in Mexico and D.C. for assistance with their missing colleagues, on the 10th season premiere of NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, Sept. 30 (9:30-10:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

It feels pretty obvious that this is going to be a super-intense premiere episode given that so many of the teams lives are on the line — we’re hopeful that everyone makes it out of here in one piece … but even if they do, there’s no real guarantee that they will be completely devoid of aftereffects. There are some issues that could linger that the team has to deal with a little bit later on down the road outside of just injuries.
