Poldark season 5 filming will begin sooner rather than later
According to a new report coming in via casting site Backstage, the fifth season will in fact kick off production next month, which means that through most of the fall, we should have a few opportunities to hear about some of what’s going on behind the scenes. One of the biggest reasons why production may be waiting this long is just to make it past the busy tourism season in Cornwall before kicking off filming. There have been many different reports out there about heavy crowds in many filming locations this summer — the success of the series has caused tourism to skyrocket in the area and beyond that, it’s just a nice place to be this time of year. We’re sure that Poldark could start filming right now if they really wanted to, but we have a feeling that dealing with smaller crowds makes everything so much easier.
Our advice if we are the cast and crew? Do some of the scenes with Aidan Turner swimming earlier, since the last thing that he probably wants to do is dive into some of that ocean water come December, closer to the end of production.
The aforementioned site does note what we’ve been saying for a good while now, and that is the strong possibility that we are gearing up now for the final season of Poldark. There’s no reason to believe anything otherwise based on much of what the cast and crew have said. There is a cognizance that the show could continue for many more years, but also a sentiment that sometimes, it really is better off wrapping things up early when you still can be considered a champion.
