The Blacklist season 6 spotlight: The future for Liz Keen

We’re back with another edition of our ongoing The Blacklist season 6 spotlight series today, and with that, today we’re placing the focus front and center on Liz Keen as we ponder over one question: What happens now?

If you recall, at the end of last season Liz was able to uncover one of the most important pieces of information in the history of the series: The man pretending to be Raymond Reddington is not actually her father. He has been an imposter this whole time and with that, there are so many questions that remain.

But, in the wake of learning this all-important news, what happens next with Liz? Well, we do have some suggestions worth checking out below!

1. Find some more people to trust – It’s unrealistic to think that Liz is going to be able to handle all of the information that she has by herself when it comes to the truth about Reddington, and with that, we do think that she should find a way to pass along the information to at least one more character. That gives her a chance to work alongside someone as the two try to find a way to navigate keeping all of this information hidden from Reddington. It’s a new cat-and-mouse game, and we think another person knowing also raises the stakes to keep it a secret.

2. More fun scenes with James Spader – We really want to see the series play up the fact that for the first time really ever, Liz knows information on Reddington that he is not aware of. Relish in the fun of that a little bit since Liz can subtly hint at it in a way that perhaps Fake Reddington will not realize. Embrace the new dynamic!

3. Show more of her daily life within the FBI – She actually has a chance to have a reasonably-normal existence now … at least by her times. While angry, vengeful Liz can be compelling, we also do want to get back to showing how Liz and the team around her really function within the larger FBI ecosystem.

4. Pose questions about a love interest – While we’re not saying for sure that Liz needs a new love interest, it is a question that should be raised. After all, when you think about the time jump last season it’s been a good while since Tom’s death and she may at least be wondering if she now should turn the page.

The Blacklist season 6 premieres on NBC come early 2019. We’ll have more insight on that the moment it becomes available!
