Outlander: Sam Heughan – Live! with Kelly and Ryan interview highlights
Let’s start things off with this: Jenna Dewan was the guest co-host on the show this morning, which gave the appearance a little more comfort since she moderated the Outlander panel at San Diego Comic-Con this week. She and Sam discussed that panel briefly before they started to talk about his and Caitriona Balfe’s driving skills (a reference to a comedic back-and-forth on social media) and then also his recent cover on Men’s Health. Given that Dewan has a new cover of her own out there, this felt like a natural topic of conversation.
Following this, there was a conversation about The Spy Who Dumped Me, disrobed runners in the city of Budapest (where the movie filmed), and also whether or not it is possible to remain straight-faced while doing scenes with Kate McKinnon. He also talked a little bit about how he likes to be outdoors and how he is looking forward to being back in Scotland for a week before eventually heading off to South Africa in order to work on his new movie Bloodshot.
Before the end of the show, he did offer up this one little tease when it comes to Outlander season 4 and the story ahead: “There are a lot of characters that come back from the past — or, shall I say, the future?”
If there is one moment that we’d chide the show for a little bit, it’s having Sam come out to “Hot in Herre” by Nelly. (Yep, that’s how it is spelled.) Why would you have him do that? If you wouldn’t play that song for an actress coming out, it’s hard to really understand why you would do differently for an actor.
