The Last Kingdom season 3 premiere date: The best time to launch it

The Last Kingdom

The wait for The Last Kingdom season 3 continues — though rest assured, you will get a chance to see it at some point this year.

After wrapping up production this spring, the question mark for the Netflix historical epic remains quite simple: When are we going to get a chance to see it and what’s the best time to kick it off? Over the course of this article, CarterMatt wants to pinpoint three of the best times in order to bring the show back in order to deliver the most attention possible to Uhtred son of Uhtred and his adventures.

Mid October – With October they aren’t going to want to air too early in the month, since they’ll lose some attention due to the start of the fall season. However, at the same time you also don’t want to air it so late in the month that it gets absorbed into either November sweeps or preparation for Halloween, but since it’s now streaming on Netflix Mid-October could be prime real estate for it.

Late November – The benefit of launching The Last Kingdom here is quite simple: If you do it around Thanksgiving in the United States, you’re taking advantage of a time in which there are a lot of viewers available who don’t have anything else to do other than eat or shop. The only downside here is that you’re launching the series at the same time as Vikings, and since those two shows have a lot of similarities, they each have to deal with more competition for viewers as a result of it.

Mid December – The idea here is that December traditionally is a time of the year where Christmas cuts off programming for a number of different shows. Because of that, there’s less going on and more room for a Netflix show. With viewers all over the world starting to take time off work, this may be the right time in order to launch the show.
