Fuller House season 4: Dave Coulier directing another episode
After previously helming episodes both in 2017 and 2016, Coulier is doing so again this season. The proof comes via a post on his official Instagram, which is a pretty funny message in which Coulier, upon making his announcement, realizes that nobody within the cast seems to be altogether interested in sharing in some of his excitement.
Coulier will certainly make some onscreen appearances coming up (it wouldn’t be the Full House franchise without him!), but we definitely do think that there is something very valuable that comes out of getting someone behind the camera who knows these cast members so well. There are many examples out there in the television industry of actors directing their fellow cast members. Yet, there are far fewer examples of directors who have known some of the other actors almost the entirety of their lives. That’s what is happening here when it comes to Coulier with Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber. He’s known all of them since they were kids and understands their comedic sensibilities. Fuller House is a family both on and off-screen, and that’s a big part of why it is one of the best family shows out there. This is one of the many reasons we appreciate this show as much as we do since we are a family here at CarterMatt as well.
The hardest thing for us to understand is having to wait for so long to get new Fuller House episodes — we certainly do wish that they were coming up sooner in the future! Alas, all we can do is cross our fingers and hope that some more news comes out in the coming months. It feels like a sure thing that we’re going to get at least some season 4 episodes this year — it’s mostly a matter of when.
