Rugrats revival news; Mayans MC poster; The Orville season 2 scoop (Quick Hits)
Today, Nickelodeon announced that they are bringing back the beloved cartoon, which is one of the original “Nicktoons” that came on the air alongside Ren & Stimpy and Doug. Next to maybe SpongeBob SquarePants, we would consider it to be the most successful animated show in Nick’s history — some may argue that it’s even bigger, given that without it, it’s possible that SpongeBob may have never happened.
According to THR, the network has confirmed a 26-episode season coming in the future; in a statement, Viacom COO and Nickelodeon interim president Sarah Levy had the following to say:
“Rugrats is hands-down one of the most celebrated cartoons in TV history, and we are thrilled for a whole new audience to meet these iconic characters in brand-new adventures … What was true in 1991 when the original show premiered is still true today: Kids are fascinated with the world of babies. We can’t wait for today’s kids to meet Tommy, Chuckie and pals.”
