Emmys 2018 snubs: Outlander, Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Alison Brie

Emmys 2018

The 2018 Emmy nominations are now out there, and there are a lot of things for people to be excited about. Yet, there are also a few reasons in which people are going to be rather sad. Snubs are a part of life with awards shows. We’ve come to expect them and because of that, we’ve prepared ourselves in advance.

Remember here that in addition to these snubs (which you can read about below), you can head over here to read our pieces all about surprises, as well as some of the nominations as a whole.

Outlander, Sam Heughan, and Caitriona Balfe – It’s a recurring theme, but also one that continues to drive us mad. How is this show getting ignored on such a regular basis? Why does the Emmys do this to us? We’ve got more to say on this, and we’ll be doing that before long.

Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke – Apparently, submitting themselves as leads for Game of Thrones didn’t quite work out for the show. While it got a Drama Series nod, the HBO show was actually snubbed in the lead categories. The cast did get some Supporting love.

Alison Brie – How does this show not get any love for its leading lady in a sensational performance?

The Terror – Somehow, AMC’s historical drama didn’t get any love either as a Limited Series or for Jared Harris.

All of Starz in general in the Drama Series category – Where was the love for JK Simmons for Counterpart or Omari Hardwick for Power? Nothing happening here.

Mariska Hargitay – Apparently, Law & Order: SVU has been on the air too long for the Emmys to take notice.

Sarah Drew – Same goes for Grey’s Anatomy, but we’re super-mad about this one given that this was Drew’s final season.

Poldark – The British series was the longest of longshots, but we still wanted it to happen.

Tom Ellis – The Lucifer star was a personal choice, and we certainly contend that nobody else could have played Lucifer Morningstar quite like him.

Chandler Riggs – No love for his final season on The Walking Dead, even though he left with an incredible performance.

Freddie Highmore – Personally, we would’ve probably removed the two Westworld actors and put in Highmore and Heughan. The Good Doctor was a brilliant show!

Tom Bergeron – The Dancing with the Stars is arguably the best live-show host in reality TV, and somehow, the Emmys have moved on from him.

Jodie Comer – The Killing Eve star was tapped by many to get a nod but still, it didn’t happen.

Vikings – We didn’t think it would happen, but where’s Katheryn Winnick for doing an outstanding job as Lagertha once again?

Abigail Spencer – It would’ve made a great gift for Timeless fans who wanted to see the show get a little more love.
