Strike: Lethal White release date revealed; what’s it mean for TV series?

Strike season 3

For everyone wondering whether or not Strike: Lethal White will be adapted for BBC One (and potentially Cinemax down the road), all signs do seem to point towards it!

Today, it was announced that Lethal White, the next book in the Cormoran Strike mystery novel series by J.K. Rowling’s pen name Robert Galbraith, will be hitting stores on September 18. That’s tremendous news for people out there who love the books, and for those who love the series, there is likely good news coming down the road. Rowling confirmed all the way back in March that Lethal White would be made for TV at some point in the future and we’d hope that it would be released at some point in 2019. Our philosophy is this: Give everyone some time in which to enjoy the book, and then release the series at some point after that. This feels like the best possible way in which to make everyone happy. This is a luxury that we wish that Game of Thrones had, but it’s clear the books were never going to be able to stay ahead of the show.

Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger star in the TV adaptation, which is referred to as C.B. Strike here in the United States. It performed rather well in the ratings on BBC One when it aired, and we really think that this is the sort of series that is only going to become more successful as time goes on. It does have a sort of vintage murder-mystery feel to it and we imagine, as a result of this, that it is going to be appealing to a number of audiences.

Rest assured that once we’ve got some more news concerning the future of Strike as a TV series, we will absolutely have it for you here. If you love the books, be prepared to enjoy the latest one before too long!
