Cable Ratings: Queen of the South, Animal Kingdom season 3, Cloak & Dagger
Queen of the South – Let’s start with the USA drama, which we largely celebrate for being not only incredibly entertaining, but a show that is worthy of so much more press than it gets. It performs pretty well in the numbers and we are very much pleased to say that with a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic last week, it is holding firm to many of its recent averages. With that, it doesn’t appear, at least on paper, like the show is going to be in any sort of significant danger in the near future.
We’d love to see a season 4 renewal be announced at some point in the reasonably near future, but at the same time we are not going to freak out all that much if there isn’t one soon.
Cloak & Dagger – It’s one of the best comic-book adaptations in some time, with the only concern we’ve had being whether or not it would find a consistent audience on Freeform. The good news is that the series drew a 0.2 rating in the demo for last Thursday’s episode that is even with the week before. The bad news is that the series slipped under 500,000 total live+same-day viewers for the first time ever.
Ultimately, though, the performance as a whole for Cloak & Dagger makes us confident in its future.
Animal Kingdom – Finally, let’s turn to the one series on this list that has already been renewed. With a 0.4 rating for this past episode coupled with around 1.2 million viewers, fans of the TNT drama can be very much thrilled that even after the renewal announcement, there hasn’t been any slipping in the numbers at all.
