Elementary season 6 episode 11 delayed for Presidential Address
According to a new report via Deadline, the Presidential Address regarding a new Supreme Court pick is going to be made at around 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and CBS is preparing for that by pushing back their new episode of Salvation until 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. With that in mind, the latest episode of Elementary — one that is set to touch on the Moriarty storyline that was established at the end of this past episode — is going to be preempted. More than likely, it will just air the following week instead and the season will be pushed back slightly. If there is ever a need in which to double up on some episodes to ensure that the full season has aired before fall, that is something that CBS can figure out down the road.
This is hardly the first time in which politics has gotten in the way of primetime programming, and we have to assume that it is far from the last. This is just something that has a tendency to happen a couple of times a year.
Yet, some networks are choosing to handle this a little bit differently than others. Take, for example, The Bachelorette over on ABC, which is not going to preempt its episode. Instead, what’s going to happen is that the address will cut into The Bachelorette, and then the ABC show will continue airing immediately following it. The network is just going to push its lineup past primetime and with that, local news and Jimmy Kimmel Live! will air a little bit later in the evening than originally planned.
