Hawaii Five-0 alum Grace Park joins ABC’s A Million Little Things

Grace Park

Grace Park has officially booked her first series-regular role since departing Hawaii Five-0and this time around she seems to be subbing out action for drama.

Per a report from Deadline, Park is set to star in ABC’s upcoming drama A Million Little Things, replacing Anne Son in the role of Katherine. This is a series with a star-studded cast from top to bottom, including Grimm alum David Giuntoli, Psych star James Roday, and Valor actress Christina Ochoa. The pilot trailer certainly brings to mind This Is Us in terms of its tone, and the series revolves around a group of friends in Boston who find a way to bond under some unusual circumstances.

Seeing Park land a new role at around this time hardly comes as a surprise, largely due to the fact that she’s a fantastic actor who had a year to relax and recharge a little bit after deciding not to return to Hawaii Five-0 in the midst of a dispute over pay. She and Daniel Dae Kim left the series at the same time; Kim has yet to book another series-regular role, but he has filmed a part in an upcoming Hellboy film and also is an executive producer over on ABC’s The Good Doctor.

At the moment, A Million Little Things is one of the series that we have the most hope for just in terms of its cast, its story, and the potential that it has. Unfortunately, we’ve seen already with Rise over on NBC that attempts to replicate the success of This Is Us are easier said than done. There are so many components that go into a great show and sometimes, it’s just hard to find the right way in which to make them all work. For now, though, we’re certainly happy for Grace.

What this news does mean for Hawaii Five-0 fans is that the already-slim chances that you would see Park return in the future for some sort of substantial role are now slimmer. We’re not ruling out some sort of appearance eventually, but she’s going to be rather busy!
