Eleanor Tomlinson on Poldark season 5 and beyond
We’ve already heard Aidan Turner suggest in the past the show could return at some point in the faraway future (remember, there is a big time jump in the book), and now, Eleanor Tomlinson (who plays Demelza) seems to be suggesting something fairly similar. In a new interview on the BBC Breakfast show (via Digital Spy), she explains her current perception on what life at the end of Poldark season 5 could look like:
“We’re about to take on our last series, who knows if it will go further? There’s a big time jump in the book, so we need to look after that and look after the book, and either find a way of bridging that gap or perhaps having a little break and coming back later?
“We don’t know quite yet what we’ll do … It’s amazing that we’ve come this far, I was watching that clip thinking how young we look. We’re going into our fifth series now and we’ve become a slightly bizarre family.””
For now, it feels like one of the best things to do if you’re a Poldark fan is to push everything else aside in regards to the series’ future and focuses more on the now — after all, don’t we have a whole lot to enjoy at the moment? We like to think so. This is a fantastic show and we believe personally that it will remain that way through the rest of its run. Also, it’s not exactly like every British drama out there even gets five seasons. This is one that has had an incredible run and because of that, we can celebrate it all the way until the closing minutes air.
