Last Man Standing season 7: Fox assembles cast, creative team
Now, there is a little more information out there. According to a report from Deadline, Tim Allen is of course back alongside Nancy Travis, Jonathan Adams, Amanda Fuller, Christoph Sanders and Jordan Masterson. Hector Elizando could potentially be back, but his role is a little bit more complicated at the moment. He has another pilot that is still being shopped around after it wasn’t picked up earlier this month, and if that show is picked up, his appearances here may be a little more limited. However, there is a deal in place for him to return in the event that this show doesn’t find a home. In other words, his life is shaping up nicely either way.
What’s just as important, though, is getting some of the producers from the first six seasons back — having new people behind the scenes can be challenging given that they may not know the voices of the actors as well. With that in mind, the show could end up feeling very different in the event there’s a different crew coming back. Luckily, that isn’t happening in this case, as Matt Berry, Kevin Hench and Ed Yeager (who all worked on the original version of the show) are coming back. Meanwhile, Kevin Abbott will be the showrunner for season 7, a role that he has also had on the series in the past.
Last Man Standing is going to air on Fox Friday nights at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, the same timeslot that it had in the past. Now, the onus is on the creative team to deliver the show that so many viewers fought to get back for well over a year.
