How to Get Away with Murder season 5 renewal official at ABC
With this show in particular, the thing that really surprises us the most is simply this: What took them so darn long to make this happen? Think about it for a minute — this is a show with one of the best actresses on TV. We would’ve renewed this months ago! Anyhow, it really doesn’t matter in the end given that a renewal is a renewal and we’re just happy to know for certain that we are going to be getting some more of How to Get Away with Murder in the future.
As is the case with most seasons of this show we don’t expect this season to be any longer than 15 episodes, mostly just because of the fact that Davis has a very busy schedule. We’re glad for however much How to Get Away with Murder we end up getting. This renewal does also help to ensure that Shondaland is a major entity on ABC — Grey’s Anatomy is already renewed and Station 19 is also going to be back for more. Shonda Rhimes herself is moving over to Netflix under a new deal, but she will still oversee all of these shows. (Pete Nowalk is the day-to-day showrunner and has been from the very beginning here.)
