Designated Survivor season 2 finale spoilers: A shocking announcement
To make things all the more intense, remember here that Designated Survivor is not officially coming back for a season 3 at the moment. It’s very well possible that the finale could have some sort of cliffhanger without resolution on the other side. Hopefully that doesn’t happen, but at this point it just feels like something that you have to have a certain degree of caution about.
Below, the Designated Survivor season 2 finale offers up a little more information on the subject of what lies ahead:
As President Kirkman continues to deal with the turmoil surrounding the hacker and Congressional investigation, a natural disaster threatens the lives of two White House staffers. Meanwhile, Kirkman’s closest allies are surprised when the president makes an announcement no one saw coming.

As for what we’d like to see over the finale, we’d mostly like to see Kirkman’s story come full-circle and for him to establish himself more as the leader the country needs. It’s great to trust your own judgment, which he may be doing with his big announcement, but at the same time he also really should find a way to get some allies around him who he feels he can be a little more open with. One of the last things that you ever want to do is feel like you are on an island politically.
