AP Bio season 2 renewal confirmed at NBC

Xena: Warrior Princess

For anyone out there wondering about an AP Bio season 2 renewal over at NBC, you don’t have to wait any longer for some very good news.

Today, the network formally handed down a renewal to the science class comedy, which starred It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor Glenn Howerton alongside Patton Oswalt. The series had a nice little run for itself this spring and while it didn’t necessarily bring in big ratings, it did manage to succeed in a different way: Getting some social-media traction and bringing in demographics that the network really likes. Per TVLine, the first season was “one of the most highly educated audiences” on television. Typically, this correlates to viewers with wealth, which in turn likely means that there are a lot of possible consumers out there.

As of right now, NBC is starting to shore up some of their comedy lineup — after all, both The Good Place and Superstore have already been brought back for another season. Will & Grace, meanwhile, has another couple of seasons in the books. There are still question marks regarding a couple of other comedies; in general, though, NBC needs to figure out a way to get some more attention for some of their newer shows in this genre as opposed to some of their revivals like Will & Grace.
