Agents of SHIELD season 5 finale spoilers: Coulson’s fate at the center

The Agents of SHIELD season 5 finale is coming onto ABC and based on some of the information that is out there, signs point towards a heck of a conclusion. The title for this episode is “The End,” and based on what we’ve been hearing about, all indications at the moment are that this episode will tie together the majority of the show’s loose ends. It will serve, at least in part, as a worthy series finale in the event that the show isn’t picked up for another go. (For the time being, we do think that there will be another season, though we’re not altogether confident about it based on the ratings. It’s more of a gut instinct based on what the network did last year.)

Coulson’s life or death is the challenge the team finds themselves in, as the wrong decision will cause the destruction of Earth.

It shouldn’t come as too much of a shock that Coulson’s fate will be at the center of much of the entire finale, largely because this is really the picture that has been painted for most of the season to date. Given that it’s hard to imagine there being an Agents of SHIELD without Clark Gregg we like to think that this is going to be a worthy finale coming up. We also just like how this finale may look to bring things full-circle with some of what our heroes did in the future at the start of the season. We’re now back in the present, waiting to ensure that some of the characters manage to get themselves out of the weeds.
