If Poldark season 5 is the final season, can we receive more episodes in turn?
Do we think that there could be more of the show beyond season 5? Sure, and that is something that we discuss further in the latest Q&A video at the bottom of this article. (If you enjoy this video, be sure to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube.) Yet, there’s no guarantee that this is going to happen. If it is not the wish of the cast and crew to continue on beyond this season, that’s okay — they should be allowed to stop telling their version of the story at any point in which they decide they want to.
The larger question that we have here is a fundamentally simple one, and it’s this: If it does turn out that Poldark season 5 is the end of the road, can we at least get a little more of the story in the process? For us personally, we’d like to see the episode count bumped up to around ten episodes, which is what it was back during the second season of the show. This would allow the series to encompass as much of the source material as possible to both satisfy book fans and show fans who simply want to see as much of Aidan Turner and Tomlinson as possible. This could be the best possible compromise and we certainly hope that it is one that is the show does end up considering.
Regardless of whenever Poldark does choose to end its run on the air, it’s going to be incredibly sad just because it’s rather hard not to be. This is one of the best British dramas of the past several years, one that beautifully combines breathtaking visuals and fantastic storytelling. While its geography may be specific, its themes are easy to be understood from virtually anywhere in the world.
Poldark season 4 should premiere soon in the UK, and in America at some point a little bit later this fall.
