NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 21 preview: Deeks’ bar dream

Coming up on NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 21 in one week’s time, we’re going to have an opportunity to see a storyline recently introduced take center stage. To be specific, we are talking about Deeks and his dream to own a bar. Is that something that actually could happen? Well, he’s at least going to be discussing it with more people, and the title for this upcoming episode is going to be a clear reference to Cheers, one of the most successful series of all time and one that puts the concept of a bar front and center.

Below, the NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 21 synopsis offers up a little bit more insight right now when it comes to some of what lies ahead:

“Where Everybody Knows Your Name” – NCIS partners with the FBI after a Marine is murdered by a rare nerve gas. Also, Deeks shares his dream to quit law enforcement and open a bar, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, May 6(9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

So is this meant to be a serious sign that Deeks could leave the team, and Eric Christian Olsen the show? This is something that we’ve documented more in the video below (be sure to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube for more on that subject) — personally, we’re not altogether worried on this subject right now, largely because we don’t exactly see how someone like Deeks gets a bar and opens it within a few episodes. We’re still comparing this in our mind to what’s happening with Steve and Danny and the restaurant over on Hawaii Five-0. We’ll see precisely how this comparison pans out as we get to the end of this season / moving into season 10, which has already been officially renewed.

As for the other part of this case, it’s hard to really offer much insight on rare nerve gas as a plot without having more insight on the subject.
