Shadowhunters season 3 episode 7 sneak peek: Magnus wrestles with guilt
In the sneak peek below, you can get a good sense of exactly what lies ahead. Magnus is having a rough time coming to grips with what happened to Jace being the Owl, especially when it comes to what he ended up doing to aid Lilith in her quest unknowingly. We understand why Magnus feels the way that he does — he cares a lot about those close to him and close to Alec. With that, he harbors guilt when things do not go the way in which he expected. It’s a huge part of who he is and, in turn, it’s a major part about what makes him great as a character. For someone who has been alive so much longer than any other major character within this world, it would be so easy to carry with him this perception that he is some sort of all-knowing sage. Luckily, we don’t see Alec doing that. He shows a lot of humility and a great realization that he still has so much to learn. That is often what we find true about someone like him. He recognizes perhaps more than anyone that he only understand a tiny percentage of the world’s knowledge.
As a result of the guilt that Magnus feels, be prepared to see him over the course of this episode really come up with a new master plan. By the end of the hour, our hope that we’re going to get a chance to see some major movement in the quest to save Jace — not only that, but it would also be great to get a real meeting of the minds with Magnus vs. Lilith now that he knows the truth about her. We’re expecting great things and we certainly have a lot of confidence in the folks over at Shadowhunters to deliver.
