Supernatural season 13 episode 21 preview: ‘Beat the Devil’
In terms of familiar faces on The CW series, you’re getting a ton of them in this episode in between Richard Speight Jr., Samantha Smith, and Mark Pellegrino alongside the return of Ruth Connell and also a new favorite of ours in Alexander Calvert. We also do like that we have a pretty intense central arc at the moment where the majority of it revolves around finding out, if possible, there is a way to establish some sort of peace in this world again. Things feel a little more like an ensemble drama than they have in the past, though whether or not things stay that way until the end of the season remains to be seen.
Below, the Supernatural season 13 episode 21 synopsis offers up a pretty good sense as to precisely what is coming up:
THE LONG JOURNEY HOME – Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), Castiel (Misha Collins) and Gabriel (guest star Richard Speight, Jr.) must work together if they have any hope of bringing Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) and Jack (Alexander Calvert) home. Meanwhile, Rowena’s (guest star Ruth Connell) encounter with Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) may alter the outcome of the journey for one of our heroes. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Robert Berens (#1321). Original airdate 5/3/2018.

Our hope is that by the time we make it to the end of this particular episode, we’ll have some understanding as to whether or not Mary and Jack can come back. Clearly, there are some other issues that need to be dealt with in the finale and we would like to see the focus put a little more firmly on them.
