The Flash season 4 episode 18 preview: ‘Lose Yourself’; Ralph’s decision

Flash season 4 episode 7 review

When The Flash season 4 episode 18 airs on The CW come Tuesday, April 17, all signs are pointing to this being where the rubber meets the road for Ralph Dibny.

In so many ways, it’s easy to say that we understand where this character is coming from at the moment. Dibny is someone who is struggling with the notion that one wrong move could lead to his own death — he knows that DeVoe is out for him and the other bus metas and it may only be a matter of time before he’s toast. Desperate times clearly call for desperate measures, and we’ve already seen with Harrison Wells a willingness to execute some desperate measures in order to get some of what he wants.

The Flash season 4 episode 18 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below offers up a little more insight when it comes to some of the story ahead:

RALPH CONSIDERS CROSSING A LINE TO DEFEAT THE THINKER – When Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash find a way to enter The Thinker’s lair, Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) considers crossing a dangerous line to defeat DeVoe. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) is concerned by Harry’s (Tom Cavanagh) recent behavior. Hanelle Culpepper directed the episode written by Jonathan Butler & Gabriel Garza (#418). Original airdate 4/17/2018.

Is this going to be the episode where Harry breaks bad … or is he ever going to break bad at all? We don’t think it’s going to be so simple as the thinking cap corrupting him, but we do very much imagine there being a way in which this ends up incapacitating him so much more than it actually ends up helping him. This is something that definitely does feel like it could happen, mostly because when it comes to having powers on this show there are almost always consequences. Take, for example, Barry — he’s a speedster, but ever since becoming The Flash his friends and family have been in constant danger. For Dibny, he’s never been able to really stop for a second to breathe ever since figuring out a little more of his destiny as Elongated Man.

With Harry, it’s fair to imagine that things are going to get so much worse long before they ever end up getting better.
