How NCIS the series is changing the real NCIS organization

NCIS

NCIS season 15 is currently on the air and at this point it doesn’t feel like hyperbole to refer to the show as an entertainment institution. It remains one of the highest-rated shows on network television, it features some of the most-recognizable actors out there, and it’s also really exposed the world to an organization many may not be all that familiar with in real life.

As a matter of fact, it wouldn’t come as all that great of a shock if there were some people out there who legitimately felt as though NCIS was a made-up thing and there wasn’t actually a real organization doing some of this work.

Regardless, the CBS series has served as a pretty valuable recruiting tool to bring in people interested in working for the real NCIS. After seeing Gibbs, Abby, and others over the years, it’s understandable that there would be a lot of enthusiasm for people in real life to want to be a part of the group! This is something that was confirmed recently by Mark Harmon himself, who made it clear while at the recent TV Guide cover event that they don’t actually recruit NCIS agents in schools anymore. They have such a high demand for them at this point that there is a waiting list. It may be a tough job, even tougher than it appears to be on the show, but there seems to be a steady stream of agents eager to sign up and be a part of the experience of solving crimes within the military.

If for whatever reason you are interested in working for the real NCIS itself, we also have some suggestions for you below! Applying for this job is, understandably, pretty different than most other jobs that are out there on the market. There is a very different way in which to go about the application process.

Remember, new episodes of NCIS the show itself air on CBS Tuesday nights.
