Station 19 ratings steady; Scoobynatural ratings impress

Daphne

There were a couple of different ratings-related curiosities that we had following Thursday night, with the Scoobynatural ratings being especially high on the list.

Ultimately, The CW has a lot to be excited about with this long-promoted Supernatural event, which brought in a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic coupled with more than 2 million viewers. These are the best numbers for an episode of the show since the season premiere, and we do think that they make a case for more Scooby-Doo in some shape or form, including potentially getting an opportunity to see a live-action series in the future. There’s nothing necessarily announced on that subject but we’re all about the idea — it’s something that we even discussed in a recent video on the subject which you can check out below. If nothing else, hopefully some of these ratings do give Supernatural a boost moving forward into the rest of their season.

As for some other news of note from last night, the latest Station 19 episode drew a 1.2 rating, which puts the series right about in line with how it started off last week. While this isn’t a fantastic performance, it’s probably good enough to earn the series a season 2 if it keeps this momentum up. The best thing that it could have going for it this summer is a situation where it can be found and binge-watched easily; this is one of the things that helped out Scandal dramatically during some of its own early days on the air.

Interestingly, Scandal (0.9) actually ended up hurting Chicago Fire (0.9) way more than Station 19 did. Who would’ve figured that these two shows would have the huge crossover audience that they do? These are some of the lowest ratings for each one of these shows in quite some time, though with Scandal at this point the ratings don’t really matter all that much since it’s ending in a matter of weeks.
