Ink Master: Angels preview: Meet Terry Darkman, Jon Ronzka, Teej Poole
There is one change to this season in that apparently, the artists will not be choosing which Angel they are facing off against — it is now assigned in advance, and this week the winner of the competitions will face off against Kelly. (Good luck with that — no easy feat.) The winner will get a chance to be a part of Ink Master season 11.
Now, let’s set the table for the three artists competing in Charlotte on Tuesday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.
Terry Darkman – He’s been tattooing over twenty years and in so many ways he’s been a pioneer. He adopted the name “Darkman” because he was one of the few black artists in the area. After coming out of prison, he worked extremely hard in order to make a career for himself and then make his daughter proud.
Jon Ronzka – As it turns out Terry and Jon know a lot about each other — they work together, and really are the perfect one-two punch for their shop! Terry is the black-and-gray specialist at his shop. Meanwhile, what Jon often does is color. Jon is also a family man, a guy who worked 18-hour work days while going through an apprenticeship.
Teej Poole – Finally, Teej looked up to Terry as an idol for most of his career — they have a good relationship and he views this as Terry “passing the torch” to him. He’s also a family man, and he shows off a lot of his black-and-gray skill in the first challenge assigned to them by the Angels: Trying to design the perfect turtle.
The video reveals that Teej does win the first showdown — either Jon or Terry is going home before we even get around to round 2.
