Suits season 7: The mood around Meghan Markle, Patrick J. Adams exit
Speaking in a new interview with TV Guide, executive producer Aaron Korsh detailed some of the discussions that surrounded the episode, including what the writers had to try and figure out when it comes to balancing the great moments with the hardships:
“Many times in the Suits writers’ room we’re like, ‘Do we want to give a good ending to something or a good middle, or do we want to have it be bittersweet?’ or ‘How do we accomplish…’ I think Suits is inherently oftentimes an optimistic show, but then over the years if you look at a lot of the things that we do, it has been less optimistic. Obviously, Mike going to prison, but then Mike getting out of prison. So, we definitely went back and forth on to make it sweet, bitter, or bittersweet, and collectively in the entirety of the finale there is — We think we struck the right balance, is I guess what I’ll say.”
There is definitely a great deal to balance as a whole with the final episode of the season when it comes to the end of Mike and Rachel’s story, but then also trying to figure out how to launch Gina Torres’ upcoming spin-off. That is also going to be a big part of the hour.
