Elementary season 6 spoilers: More news on Desmond Harrington’s character
Yet, with the show returning at the end of next month, there is starting to be a little bit of news coming in, especially when it comes to new series regular Desmond Harrington in the role of Michael Rowan. The Dexter alum is someone who apparently is eager to get close to Sherlock Holmes, but it may not be for the most desirable of reasons. For a little bit more information when it comes to this subject, just take a look at what show executive producer Rob Doherty had to say to TV Guide:
“I think of Michael as man who’s intent on becoming Sherlock Holmes’s shadow … They meet as fellow addicts in recovery, but it’s no accident. Michael has plans for Sherlock, a twisted idea of how they can help each other. By the time Sherlock looks closer, he’ll realize there’s this warped, dark figure attached to him and it might not be possible to shake him off.”
Michael could be in some ways a man who preys off of one of Sherlock’s most tragic traits in his inherent loneliness. He is a brilliant master sleuth who gives a lot to the job, but in choosing to do this there is also a lot that he also gives up. Bonds with people are near the top of the list. His relationship with Joan Watson has been strained as of late, his history with Morland Holmes is already well-documented, and of course we know a thing or two already about what happened with “Irene Adler.” This entire season could be Sherlock setting himself up for quite a fall with this character just because, for the first time in really quite while, he cannot see the forest through the trees.
