The Bachelor overnight date spoilers: More on the mystery ex

Whose ex shows up on The Bachelor during the overnight dates? There is some cause for speculation on the subject; for now, one fact is clear. For the first time, it’s now 100% clear that this hyper-dramatic moment happens during Monday night’s overnight dates episode. It’s almost certain that this is going to be a crazy moment, but will it actually change anything? Let’s get into that starting up with the attached synopsis:

The next day, in one of the most dramatic twists in Bachelor history, a mystery visitor arrives ready to upset Arie’s dreams of a happily ever after. A determined man has flown all the way to Peru to win back his ex-girlfriend. A series of intense confrontations follows, casting doubt on which two women Arie will choose and who will be sent home brokenhearted. His ultimate decision will come down to the final day, hours and minutes of his journey.

So … will this person really convince his ex to leave Arie and this competition behind? Probably not. Here’s some insight — at this point in the show, the female contestants have really been cut off from the outside world for most of the season; they have Arie on the brain and there’s an almost 0% chance that they are going to want to do anything other than be with him. It’s hard to have anything other than tunnel vision at this point.

So who could this ex be? You can probably go ahead and rule out Kendall Long for one simple reason: It doesn’t matter that she is there. Kendall has maybe a 1% chance of winning the show; she’s had zero one-on-one dates and as a result of that, we don’t see production wasting their time crafting a story like this. It’s either Becca Kurfin or Lauren Burnham. We would lean more towards Becca just because they mention an ex-boyfriend. Lauren has been previously engaged, and other than an ex-fiance we’re not sure how many other serious relationships she’s had.

One way or another, the answer will be clear come Monday night.
