Should Criminal Minds season 13 have big finale cliffhanger?
To be specific, the question that we want to raise here is rather simple: Should there be a big finale cliffhanger? Is that something that the series would be brave enough to do? This is something that the writers pulled off last season with the car crash, and it’s something that we certainly saw for many years before that. If you’re a diehard Criminal Minds fan, we probably don’t have to explain to you why this is important: It’s basically an opportunity to generate some excitement for a possible season 14 in the future! Beyond that, this could also be construed as a way to effectively dare CBS into giving them another batch of episodes!
When looking at the Criminal Minds season 13 ratings right now, we’d say that we’re cautiously optimistic about the future. It is performing better than some other series are on different nights of the week but that’s far from a guaranteed renewal. The best thing that the producers can do is come up with a really excellent final episode that invigorates the fandom and makes you wonder what could happen come season 14.
If the series continues on the road that it’s on right now, the seeds are certainly being sewn already for what could be an excellent finale — the entire state of the BAU is in jeopardy with Linda Barnes questioning the competency of the unit. Some careers are currently in jeopardy and others could be by the time we make it to the end of the season. Barnes is a great adversary because she’s not some UnSub with a distorted view of the world; she’s just a woman trying to do her job in the past way that she sees fit. Unfortunately, in doing so she is opposed to many of our favorites.
