Supergirl season 3 episode 17: ‘Trinity’ and a possible Worldkiller reunion

Out of every episode that is coming up on the other side of this current hiatus, Supergirl season 3 episode 17 is the one that is, at least at present, the most nerve-wrecking. It’s hard to say anything otherwise about an episode entitled “Trinity.”

This episode name was uncovered recently by SpoilerTV and there is a pretty clear reading of what this episode could ultimately end up being about — Reign finally teaming up with both Purity and Pestilence to form the trio of characters intent on destroying much of the world. They’re called Worldkillers for a reason!

So far on the series, both Reign and Purity are already on the scene — Purity’s most-recent appearance came right before the show went on hiatus. What’s a little bit more interesting about her is that she’s started to realize that there is something really off with her and that she’s being controlled. At the moment, Sam knows that something is wrong but has not yet been able to figure out precisely what it is. (Lena Luthor may be able to help judging from the cliffhanger at the end of the most-recent episode…)

Pestilence as a character has yet to surface on the series; as a matter of fact, The CW has not officially announced someone to be playing the role, either. It’s with that in mind that there are some people out there speculating that maybe this is a character we already know on the series. It’s also just possible that with Supergirl not returning for so long that there’s no real hurry to announce any further casting info. The only thing that we can say is simply this: Getting all three Worldkillers together is super-bad news that could easily endanger most of the world. You have to hope that Kara Danvers and the rest of the Supergirl cast of characters are going to find a way in order to stop the trio before they do any more damage.
